Hello and welcome to the website of Michelle Locke, a Berkeley-based freelance writer.

With more than two decades of experience as a breaking-news reporter, I specialize in writing lively, engaging copy, covering topics as diverse as business forecasts, educational issues and the latest in cocktail trends. I also write white papers on wine industry trends and cover biofuels issues for the magazine BioEnergy Connections.

I am a freelance contributor to The Associated Press, a columnist at Vineyard & Winery Management magazine, a freelancer for the education journal Scholastic Administrator and a contributing writer at the online wine magazine Palate Press. My work appears in publications nationwide including The Washington Post, USA Today and the Los Angeles Times.

Vinecdote is a website reporting on trends in food, wine and travel, with a special focus on the Napa Valley and Sonoma County wine regions.

Founded in 2009, the site is updated weekly and promoted on Twitter and Facebook. Ad space available includes banner, 468×60 and sidebar ads. I am unable to accept direct advertising from wineries due to conflict-of-interest concerns but wine-related ads are welcomed, along with ads for other products and services.
